Welcome to Heritage Elementary!  Thank you for visiting our webpage!  As an introduction, here is a little bit about me.  I am a product of Davis schools, attending them in Bountiful and Kaysville and graduated from Davis High. From there I attended BYU, BYU-Hi, and graduated from Weber with a BS in Elementary Education and later an ME in Curriculum and Instruction.  After teaching fifth grade for 17 years, I switched gears, earned a supervisory endorsement from Utah State and started my administrative career at Morgan Elementary and Sand Springs Elementary.  I previously was the principal of Oak Hills Elementary in Bountiful.

I am married to Brad and we are the proud parents of five married children. They have blessed us with nine wonderful grandchildren.

I love reading, teaching, and learning.  I am passionate about promoting sound instructional strategies and finding ways that students learn best.  I love the direction Davis District is going with Blended Learning.  Our teachers are learning more about Blended Learning and the findings of educational specialists such as John Hattie, Bill Daggett, Weston Kieschnick, etc., as we implement high impact learning strategies in our classrooms.  I am a strong believer in creating positive relationships with students that will lead to teachers creating relevant lessons and learning experiences because they know what their students care about.  The relevance leads to greater student engagement that leads to more rigor in the classroom.

I love the immersion program and spent six years in Spanish Immersion at Sand Springs Elementary.  I truly enjoy learning more about the Chinese language, culture, and people.

I promote a positive educational environment where all can thrive.  I have an open door and I want you to feel free to talk with me about what is going well, what you would like to see at the school, or just come in to say hi.  I love collaborating and believe in compromise for the good of all.  Thanks again for visiting our webpage.  Heritage is a great place for learning and growing!
